Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what information Course Orbit collects through courseorbit.com, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It applies to visitors, instructors, students, and bookstore partners who interact with our website.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Contact details submitted through forms on this site, such as name, email address, and institution.
  • Information submitted through the instructor copy request form, such as your name, institution, course interest, and term, used to fulfill review copy requests.
  • Responses, and the name and email address you may choose to submit, through the Instructor Profile Assessment, used to prepare and deliver your Instructor Profile report.
  • Order details bookstores submit through our support system, such as titles, quantities, and purchase order information, used to fulfill title orders.
  • Correspondence you send us directly, such as support or accessibility inquiries.

We collect aggregate event counts for course views, instructor-copy steps, resource-to-course movement, and support-route selections. These records do not include form values, IP addresses, user agents, cookies, or persistent visitor identifiers. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals disable this measurement in the site script.

How we use this information

We use the information we collect to respond to requests, fulfill orders, provide course materials, deliver support, and maintain the security and functionality of our website. We do not use form submissions for unrelated marketing without your consent.

No sale of personal data

Course Orbit does not sell personal data collected through this site to third parties.

Sharing of information

We may share information with service providers who help us operate our website and fulfill requests (such as order fulfillment or hosting providers), and as required to comply with law. Student-data responsibility boundaries are described in Student Data Practices and FERPA.

Data retention

Aggregate analytics files are retained for 90 days. Incomplete instructor requests are reviewed after 90 days. Inactive submitted leads, linked instructor records, fallback requests, and optional profile-report requests are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or de-identified unless a contract or law requires longer. See Data Ownership and Retention.

Your choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to request its deletion, subject to any legal or contractual retention requirements.
